How much bandwidth do we need to view the books?
We recommend a high speed, broadband connection. This can be cable or DSL or faster.
For institutions with multiple users, at least 0.5 mb per second (500kbps).

Why can I only see the text, but not hear the audio in my TumbleBook?
How do I download the desktop icon?
- If you don't have audio in your TumbleBook or TumbleReadable, you probably need
to install the latest Flash Player from:
- Check to make sure that the book you are reading is a Read-Along. All picture books
have audio, but under the "TumbleReadables" category, some books may have text only.
Books with audio will have "Read-Along" beside the title.
If you have not received the icon, email us, and we'd be happy to send the link
Once you get the link, simply copy and paste it into your web browser and press
"enter." When a "file download" dialogue box opens, choose to save the file on your
desktop. When the download is done, you are ready to Tumble! (Note that, if any
warnings come up, always allow the program to run).
How does the desktop icon and the referred link work? Where do I get them?
Both the link and the icon have your school/library's username and password encoded
into them. By clicking on either, you will be taken to TumbleBookLibrary without
having to type in your username or password.
The link can be posted anywhere on your website. The icon can be installed on every
computer in your school. The link will be sent to you with your first welcome email.
Please let us know if you would like an icon, and we will send it to you when it
My link/icon brings me to the sign-in page, instead of automatically signing me in.
- Check to make sure that the link is correct and intact. If you are unsure of what
it should look like, please refer back to your original welcome email, or email
us and we'd be happy to help.
- Your username and password appear in the referred URL (but just your username is
in the desktop icon link). Check and make sure that this information is correct.
- If clicking on the icon directly from the email, or if copying and pasting does
not work, try typing it out yourself into your internet browser. The links are case
sensitive, so type carefully.
- If your referred url is placed in a frame set, it may reject the direct link. Try
removing it from the frame set.
